Harry Redknapp have turned Birmingham City’s luck around. After making one of the worst football decisions in recent history by firing Gary Rowett and hiring a Gianfranco Zola that only won one game in 28 in chage, the experienced Redknapp saved the day in the last fixture of the year securing their Championship status. After a whole summer in charge, he brought some impressive signings, like David Stockdale from Brighton or Cheikh N’Doye from Angers, and so far it’s paying off, as they beat impressively Crawley Town in the League Cup and overcame Bristol City 2-1, showing that the 1-0 defeat with Ipswich in the opening day was only a mistake.
They will host Bolton Wanderers, a recently promoted team with not enough signings and depth to survive in Championship, losing 2-3 against Leeds United, struggling to get a narrow 1-2 against the humble Crewe Alexandra in the League Cup and drawing 1-1 against Millwall, also promoted this year.
Since Redknapp took over the Blues, they haven’t lost an official match in St. Andrews, and we expect them to get another triumph in this midweek fixture to start looking to the top half of the table instead of the bottom half, where Bolton Wanderers will definitely be at the end of the season.
