The whole continent was shocked last year with Dundalk performance’s, a team that managed to get through to the UEFA Europa League group stage and got a draw in Holland against AZ and beat Maccabi Tel Aviv, much more experienced teams than the irish side.
This season things are not going as good as they have already lost all the chances to win the Irish Premier League, currently sitting 15 points behind Cork City. In Europe they are also set for a disappointment as Rosenborg, the soon to be Norwegian champions took a valuable 1-1 from Dundalk.
Rosebong is a team built to compete in Europe and to win the Eliteserien without problems, and leads the table with 5 points on top of the second. Their squad is so impressive, that even in between this Champions League tie, they travelled to the always difficult ground of Sogndal and beat them 0-3 with a mix of starters and substitutes.
Kare Ingebrigtsen has a very experience squad with players used to playing big games like this, and there’s no doubt that not qualifying for the Champions League group stage would be a massive failure for Rosenborg, so they will jump to the Lerkendal Stadium to solve the fixture as soon as possible, winning for at least a two goal difference.
