Atthe top of the stairs, you will emerge in the beautiful quadrangles. After graduation, students process around the eastquadrangle in their gowns, led by a kilted piper and robed academics. Geographyis taught here.
The west quadrangle houses the triple-accredited Adam SmithBusiness School, where Accounting & Finance, Business &Management and Economics are taught.

Ouriconic cloisters, situated between thequadrangles, have appeared in many films and TV shows including Outlaw King , Cloud Atlas and Outlander . Directly above the cloisters is theBute Hall, where graduation ceremonies take place. Students may also havelectures and sit exams there.
Fromthe cloisters, go back to either the east or west quadrangle and exit to thesouth front of the University through the large arch doorways.

Professors’Square was originally built as houses for our professors but now subjects suchas Theology & Religious Studies and Law are taught here. Lord Kelvin’shouse, one of the first in the world to be lit entirely by electricity, is atnumber 11.
The Lion & Unicorn Staircase dates from 1690 and was moved fromour original city centre location to the West End in 1870. Behind the staircaseis our Memorial Chapel, where many alumni have been married.
