This week Konya has been put between a rock and a hard place having to face the current best teams in the Turkish football.
First Galatasaray in the Cup, where Konya has passed the first test, keeping the tournament still alive after a home draw (Konya 2-2 Galatasaray). Konya started the meeting scoring first until Galatasaray managed to put the draw (1-1) followed by a second Galatasaray's goal (1-2), nonetheless, in an additional time Konya established the tie (2-2) in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Cup.
Konya (17th in Super Lig) has to face today another big clash, now against the leaders of the league. The fact of noticing that Basaksehir has won their last four fixtures in this competition and also are undefeated in their last thirteen matches against Konyaspor in all competitions does not help too much to make Konya believes in a victory in here.
There is no doubt that Basaksehir plays the best football in Turkey at the moment, they are very solid and counting with super talented footballers. Konya holds two cards on hand, the home factor and the new signings as Samuel Eto'o, Adis Jahovic and Yatabare, they will improve their attack for sure, but this game is quite early to see the potential improvements on the pitch.
