It’s so weird to me the way r/nba talks about Becky Hammon. I mean, I’m sure she’s a fine coach and she even just got a promotion, but if anyone’s helping Pop do anything to develop a player it’s likely Ettore Messina or Chip Engelland. It’s also weird how most of us can name like 3-4 Spurs assistants and talk about their roles and backgrounds but can name maybe 1-2 on our own teams, tops.

It's pretty crazy Masai thinks he can sell Leonard on re-signing with Toronto next year. He already doesn't want to be there and they just proved they don't give a *ucfk** about you as a player, they'll lie to your face and move you without hesitation. I don't see any big name players signing in Toronto for at least as long as the current FO and ownership are in place.

Lying to the face of your own franchise star who has shown absolute loyalty to your team, mere hours before he is traded for a rental, is almost as bad as the whole Colangelo burner situation imo. Many future star free agents will cross off Toronto from their destination list altogether , at least for the immediate future. It may not mean as much to fans, but stars really do take notice of which teams treat their stars with disrespect.

This happens everywhere. No GM is going to tell a player he's about to get traded when the deal isn't done.
Doc Rivers told Ray Allen he was being traded while he was still in Boston. The deal fell through and it's a big reason why Allen left.
There's really no winning when it comes to telling players about potential trades.
