It was the night of the Lunar New Year,
在农历新春佳节之际
The Rat was seated at the head of the table drinking beer.
鼠大哥在桌子的一头喝着闷酒
The table, set for twelve, was eerily deserted,
空洞萦绕着十二人座的长桌
Causing the Rat to feel rather disconcerted.
他感到索然无味
He cast his mind back to the Spring Festival of last year,
脑海中飘过去年春节的场景
When the Pig had hosted them with such good cheer.
那时，猪先生大摆宴席款待他们
This year, however, there was a gloom in the air,
然而，乌云席卷今夜长空
And the Rat nervously nibbled on a pear.
鼠大哥局促地啃着梨，悉悉索索
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door,
突然，一阵敲门声传来
And in came eleven newcomers from folklore.
十一位到访者从民间传说中漫步而来
A surgical mask covered each new guest’s face,
他们的面庞被医用口罩覆盖
They came to the table and took their place.
就坐于长桌边
Everyone knew it would be a somber meal,
每个人都意识到这是顿沉重的晚餐
The anxiety in the country was far too real.
焦虑之情在村落间弥漫
The Dragon lifted his glass and made a toast,
龙大叔端起杯盏向大家祝酒：
“To Wuhan, hold firm today and tomorrow proudly boast.”
“祝武汉，熬过今夜的迷茫，迎接明日的朝阳”
The Rooster said,
鸡女士不甘落后：
“To the people of the Mainland, stand as one,
“全国的子民团结一心，
Let no one cause your love for one another to come undone.”
不要给他人可趁之机”
The Dog added,
狗小弟补充到：
“Stay home, stay healthy, and keep hope,
“即使在家中避难，也要保持健康与希望，
Things will come to a pass and everyone in China will cope. ”
要相信一切终将成为浮云，中国人民必定战胜一切”
The Rat stood up and said,
鼠大哥起身，慷慨激昂道：
“May all of you stay strong,
“愿我们坚强抗疫，
and fight this battle, no matter how long.”
永不言弃”
