The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has finally received a go ahead from the go nment to host the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the UAE. The matches will be played in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
印度板球管理委员会(BCCI)终于获得政府的同意，将在阿联酋主办第13届印度板球超级联赛(IPL)。比赛将在迪拜、沙迦和阿布扎比举行。
The IPL Governing Council (GC), which met on Sunday, decided that the tournament will begin on September 19th and the final will be played on November 10th. Unlike the earlier plan, the schedule will have ten double-header days, while the night matches will begin at 7.30 pm India time (6 pm UAE).

In terms of total players per team, the GC has decided to put a cap of 24 players, while allowing unlimited substitutes.

The IPL GC will meet the franchises and other stakeholders during the week to discuss the standard operating procedures (SOPs), which all the teams will have to follow.

Interestingly, the GC also decided to retain all the sponsors, including title sponsor Vivo, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer. Recently, with anti-China sentiment growing in India and calls to boycott its products, there was some pressure building up on the board to replace Vivo, the tournament’s biggest advertiser.
