在进行适当的申诉后，最好的结果是:主编将文章送给其他审稿人再审，我们的文章自然有了第二次“生命”。但多数情况下，期刊还是会遵照原审稿人的意见给予“Reject”,同时主编也会写一封安慰信给作者，下面看个实例:
Dear Dr. XXX:
Thank you for your email. The decision of "Reject" was based on the reviewer’s comments and editorial evaluation. Your frustration is understandable and shared by many authors. A great number of scientists experience this to various extents during their career. However, this frustration is not helpful to improving the quality of published science.
Many potentially interesting manuscripts are declined due to space and scope limitations, and in some cases ,failure of the authors to maximally address the reviewers P concerns and suggestions. Therefore, I suggest that you read the reviewers’ comments more carefully and try to address the reviewer’ s concerns and suggestions in the future work.
