Car Accidents Declining in Walton City
According to① the graph, we can get the following information. Last year, the number of car accidents was 39 in August. After August the rate was constantly declining②, until it reached the lowest point by the end of the year. The first two months of 1990 showed an increasing trend, and went up to 32 in March, and then fell to 26 in June.
Unfavorable weather factors caused the highest figure in August. Humidity③ and high temperature make drivers impatient, which easily leads to traffic accidents. In Walton City, the excessive rain often comes in early spring. The rain makes the roads muddy, which cause car accidents to take place more frequently.
This year the condition is expected to change better. Firstly, The City government has raised money to improve the road conditions. Secondly, the new traffic regulations④, which are much stricter than the old ones have come into force⑤ this year. Finally, some new roads have been finished and the old roads have been widened, which will accelerate the flow of traffic.
With all these new measures, I'm sure that the number of car accidents will go on declining in Walton City this year.
