Adele

为了体验不同的文化和生活方式，Adele在2012年初春来到中国，在山西省的一个小镇当高中老师。初来乍到的英国女孩，努力适应中国气候，饮食习惯……在不断尝试山西主食——面条的时候，竟然很快爱上了北方美食。那段特殊又难忘的山西时光，也是她与中国缘分的开始。

问及为何从山西来到合肥，她回答说“Because my husband’s home is in Anhui Province，so we wanted to be closer to his home.”是的，这位英国女孩有位爱他的安徽小伙。他们在一次旅行中相识相知相爱，因为彼此对于未来的坚定，两人相约一起来到合肥打拼奋斗。她也因此结缘励步英语，直到现在。

在励步英语，Adele完成了两次人生转型，一次是从带课老师到外事主管，一次是从单身女孩到为人妻为人母。

今天励步君将带大家一起走近励步资深外教Adele，一起去探寻她与励步英语的奇遇经历。

从带课老师到外事主管

2013年2月，Adele正式入职励步，从一名普通的外教老师做起，每天面对面为学员授课，依靠自身的母语优势和强大的亲和力很快赢得了孩子们的喜爱。3年的一线授课经验，让她收获了更多教学经验，也被越来越多的同事认可。在2016年被提升为外教顾问，2017年正式升为外教主管，管理合肥分校所有外教的教职工作。

Adele直言：从当老师到做管理，其实是一个比较大的跨度，面对的对象从小朋友变成了外籍教师，工作内容从班级教学变成了教师管理。但不管职位或工作事项如何改变，认真、努力、负责是她始终坚持的工作原则。在Adele的带领下，合肥分校各校区外教工作井井有条，她不仅是所有外教工作上的领导，也是他们生活中的向导。

问到她当老师和当主管最大区别是什么，她说“this is a difficult question"，又补充道："To be a supervisor you need to understand the wants of the teachers and how they feel, as they all come from different countries we need to ensure they are happy within the company and china. "

从2013年到现在，Adele已经在励步合肥工作了快7年，这些年，她在励步有哪些难忘的瞬间，有哪些开心的经历和教育感悟呢？让我们通过励步君与Adele的采访实录来寻找答案。

你在励步最难忘的一件事？

I have several!One of them is when I got the national award for the Top 10 International Teacher in First Leap.

我有好几个！其中一个是获得了全国十佳国际教师一等奖的时候。

Another is when one of my classes graduated after reaching Level 5 (192 curriculum) I had been teaching them since Level 2, and I was so proud of them and super sad to see them leaving! We all went out for a big meal and celebrated them graduating.

另一个是当我的一个班升到5级（192课程）后毕业。我从2级开始教他们，我为他们感到骄傲。当他们离开的时候，我感到非常难过！为了庆祝他们毕业，我们一起出去吃了一顿大餐。

The last one I’ll say is the friends that I have made here, I have made lots of friends over the past few years here with International Teachers, Chinese Teachers and management! It’s great to feel like a team.

最后我想说的是我在这里交到的朋友，在过去的几年里，我在这里结交了很多朋友，包括国际教师，中国教师和管理人员！是很好的团队。

你在励步最开心的时刻？

The happiest moments for me are when I see the progress the students have made. I have taught some students since they first began studying in First Leap and I watched them grow into wonderful children and their English skills have improved so much

对我来说最快乐的时刻就是看到学生们取得的进步，从他们开始学习以来，我就一直在给他们上课。我看着他们成长为非常棒的孩子，英语水平也有了很大的提高。

I feel like I have done my job correctly and they now have some skills they can use for the future.

我觉得我的工作做得很好，他们现在得到了一些未来可以发挥使用的技能。

可以分享一些你的教育理念吗？

I think the most important things about education are love and attention.

我认为教育最重要的是关爱。

We must have a good relationship with the students and parents to ensure they are happy to be in our class, in this way we can give them the best lessons.

我们必须与学生和家长建立良好的关系，以确保他们能在我们的课堂上感到快乐，这样我们就可以给他们最好的课程。

If we do not show our love then students will not be happy in our classes and won’t learn anything.

如果我们不表现出我们的关爱，那么学生们就不会在我们的课堂上感到快乐，也不会学到任何东西。

To be a loving teacher is to be the best teacher. We need to be caring and kind with our students but also ensure they learn to the best of their abilities.

做一个关爱学生的老师，就是做最好的老师。我们需要关心和爱护我们的学生，但也要确保他们尽自己最大的能力去学习。

Attention is also important. We need to give attention to everything and everyone.

关注也很重要，我们需要关注每一个人和每一件事。

We need to ensure our lessons are ready to be presented and ensure we have all the materials needed for the class. We need to make sure that we understand the classes first before we teach the students.

我们需要确保做好我们的备课工作，并保证充分准备我们上课所需的所有材料。我们需要确保在教学之前熟练掌握课程的内容。

We need to give attention to every student in the class to make sure they are all learning and ready for the class. We need to make sure they are well rested and ready for the lesson.

我们需要关注班上的每一位学生，保证他们都在学习，而且我们也需要确保他们得到充分的休息，充分安排好学习和休息的时间。

We need to ensure that all the students are learning and paying attention to the class so that we have the best outcome from the lesson. We need to pay attention to the parents to ensure they are happy with their child’s learning.

我们需要确保所有的学生都在学习和注意课堂，这样我们就能从课堂中获得最好的学习成果。我们也需要关注家长，以确保他们对孩子的学习感到满意。

Attention to detail is everything.

对细节的关注就是一切。

从单身女孩到初为人母

在励步7年，Adele教过的小学员大概有近千名，从学前组到小低组，看着一批批的宝贝入学，然后毕业，这是一个老师特有的骄傲。而如今的Adele已经是一个7个月宝宝的妈妈，女儿非常可爱，这是一个女生独有的幸福。

现在的Adele相比之前，少了些青涩，多了几分成熟，举手投足间都是当妈妈的幸福与温柔。问到Adele平常生活中有什么爱好的时候，她说”I used to travel a lot, recently not so much because I had a baby"，即使少了很多以前拥有的休闲时刻，但从言语间却能感觉到Adele当妈妈的幸福感和满足感。

当妈妈后，你在面对学员的时候心态上有什么改变吗？

I understand how they feel a bit better. It is difficult to be a child and there are so many things happening. We need to give them more love and attention。

我更能理解他们的感觉。当一个孩子很难，而且有很多事情发生。我们需要给他们更多的爱和关注。

“Tell me and I forget.

Show me and I remember.

Involve me and I understand.”

这是Adele最喜欢的一句话，当了妈妈的她在未来的工作中也会有更多为人母的感同身受，将爱和关注更好地传达给励步的中外教老师们，给励步宝贝们带来更棒的教学服务！
