QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree or PhD from a reputablecollege/university in a quantitative field such as economics, mathematics,computational finance, statistics, engineering, or physics; industryqualifications including CFA, FRM, PRM or similar would be considered an asset
1-5 years of relevant professional/industryexperience combining risk management and/or advanced quantitative modelingtechniques, preferably within a financial services related industry (e.g.,banking and securities, asset management)
Experience in model development,validation, and bench-marking, specifically related to single and multi-factormodels, and other modeling techniques (Merton, Longstaff-Schwartz,Black-Sholes, etc.) within a regulatory context (CCAR)
Hands on experience in developing/validatingderivative pricing models
Exceptional verbal and writtencommunication skills, especially around translating technical knowledge intoforms that can be digested by leadership and non-technical project teams
Ability to produce independent opinion andactionable recommendations
Understanding of financial mathematicsincluding stochastic calculus and probability theory, as well as derivativepricing models and other numerical techniques across a variety of asset classes(e.g., equities, rates, credit, FX and commodities)
Experience programming in a modernscientific language (e.g., Python, Matlab, R) and some experience with Java,C#, C++, or C.
Knowledge of SQL, SAS, and VBA would be aplusKnowledge of VaR (historic, parametric, MonteCarlo), EOD or intra-day risk& valuation, as well as stress-testing and scenario analysis
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will help clients validate their modelsand assess their modeling frameworks across a variety of risk functions,including market and trading risk, credit risk, and model risk management.
In this role you will have the opportunityto advance McKinsey’s overall knowledge base by providing rigorous analysis toand problem solving for our proprietary knowledge investments. At more seniorlevels, you’ll also focus on developing new analytical approaches andtechniques, working with an outstanding knowledge structure and internationalnetwork of experts in order to codify existing knowledge and develop newknowledge.
Some work at the client site is expected.Working on projects and exchanging experiences with your colleagues means youwill face new intellectual challenges on a daily basis, while continuouslybuilding your methodological knowledge and skills.
