Family Tree
Mom was drawing a picture. "What are you drawing?" asked Barbara, looking over her mother's shoulder.
"This is our family tree," answered her mother. “It shows you, your sister and brother, Dad, and me. It also shows our parents, their parents and others from long ago."
"That's neat!" said Barbara. "Who is Olive Willard?"she asked, pointing to a name.
"That's Grandma Olive," answered Mom.
'But I thought her name was Olive Flanders," said Barbara.
"Before she married Grandpa Clint, her name was Olive Willard,"answered Mom. “Look here. Here is my name. My name used to be Flanders."
“It seems strange to think that you weren't always you, but someone else," said Barbara. Her mother laughed.
