“广慈”是瑞金医院前身，名称起源于1907年天主教会在法租界创办的“圣玛利亚医院”（L’Hopital Sainte Marie），意为“广为慈善”，具有百年多的悠久历史。医院现址位于上海市黄浦区核心历史保护风貌区思南路，周边有上海仅存良好的法式园林复兴公园，地理和自然条件优越；区域拥有丰富的历史保护建筑群，曾居住过众多近现代名流人士，也是浓厚的人文历史蕴积之地。
历史上的广慈医院中央大楼（原称8舍），如今原址是20世纪90年代初落成的瑞金医院6号楼。曾被我国建筑学家称为中国的“凡尔赛宫”，2006年获评上海市第四批优秀历史保护建筑，也是广慈医院历史*特中**殊的符号。
Shanghai Guang-Ci Memorial Hospital is a sino-foreign joint venture and cooperative medical institution under Ruijin Hospital, which is affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine. Based on the top expert team of Ruijin Hospital, the project cooperates with well-known experts at home and abroad to provide customers with one-stop full-life-cycle health products and high-quality medical services.
“Guang-Ci” was the predecessor of Ruijin Hospital. The name, meaning “wide charity”, originated from L’Hopital Sainte Marie, which was founded by the Catholic Church in 1907 in the French Concession in Shanghai. It thus has a history of over a hundred years. Located in Sinan Road, a core historical feature protection zone of Huangpu District, the hospital is adjacent to Fuxin Park, the city’s only well-preserved French style garden, with superior geographical and natural conditions. The area is home to great many historic preservation building complexes, hosting many modern celebrities. It is hence also a place of rich cultural and historical accumulations.
The central building of Guang-ci Hospital in history (formerly known as the 8th House) is now the site of the building 6 of Ruijin Hospital, which was completed in the early 1990s. It was hailed by Chinese architects as China’s “Palace of Versailles”. In 2006, it was listed into the fourth batch of outstanding historic protection buildings in Shanghai. It is also a special symbol in the history of Guang-ci Hospital.

沿街建筑外观上，通过借鉴思南路建筑风貌及历史人文，针对原有沿街外立面入口界线模糊、品质不佳的问题，重新进行形象设计，增强个性的同时提升入口的仪式感，使其融入思南路特色的城市风貌；同时也考虑到了在建筑形象上与现今瑞金医院自身的法式建筑特色及历史感形成统一协调，并兼顾历史形象与现代审美的需求，从而让广慈纪念医院在传承历史文脉中得以舒展新生。
In terms of the facades of the buildings along the street, the project redesigns the image by learning from the architectural style and historical culture of Sinan Road, specific to the blurred entrance lines and poor quality of the original facades along the street. While enhancing the individuality, it elevates the ritual sense of the entrance, and integrates into the characteristic city style of Sinan Road. It also considers forming a unified coordination with the French style architectural characteristics and historical sense of Ruijin Hospital itself, in terms of the architectural image, while taking into account the needs of historical image and modern aesthetics, so that Guang-ci Memorial Hospital can extend and have a new lease of life in inheriting the historical context.
沿街外观
原有的中庭空间较为拥堵且缺乏户外活动空间，对此设计重新布局中庭，预留出户外活动空间。对内院入口处生活水箱进行了抬高处理，解决了入口视觉拥堵问题，同时对抬高的结构进行行了景观化处理，使其变为中庭空间的一个形象亮点；停车方面合理规划了一定的停车空间以满足就诊需要，且考虑到场地狭长宽度有限，在庭院景观地坪上设置了电动转盘，解决车辆在场地内调头不便的问题。同时，对地面铺装及外墙进行重新美化，消除了原有残破老旧空间带来的不佳体验。
The original atrium space was relatively congested and lacked outdoor activity space, so the atrium is redesigned to reserve space for outdoor activities. The living water tank at the entrance of the inner courtyard is raised to solve the visual congestion at the entrance. The elevated structure is landscape-based treated, making it an image highlight of the atrium space. In terms of parking, a certain parking space is reasonably planned to meet the needs of people seeking medical treatment. Considering the length and limited width of the site, an electric turntable is set up on the courtyard landscape floor to solve the inconvenience of vehicles to turn around in the site. Meanwhile, the ground pavement and exterior walls are re-beautified, clearing off the poor experience brought by the original broken old space.

不同于传统医院冰冷的外观形象，我们试图营造一个围绕健康服务的生活社区。以患者为中心，同时也注重医者使用空间的营造，优化主要人流动线以及医疗功能，打造一个环境优美、尺度适宜、体现人性关怀的医疗空间。
Unlike the cold appearance of traditional hospitals, the project tries to create a living community around health services. Putting patients at the center, it stresses the construction of space for doctors, and optimizes the main foot traffics and medical functions, to create a medical space with a beautiful environment, appropriate scale and human care.
长 廊
入口设置形象接待区，由会客厅、大堂、历史长廊等组成。为了呼应圣玛利亚医院的悠久历史，在兼顾物理空间的特点下融入了鲜明的法式元素，考究的制作工艺散发出厚重优雅的气息，给来宾以尊贵的就诊体验。穿越层层的法式拱门，在历史长廊中了解广慈的前世今生。
An image reception area is set up at the entrance, composed of the reception room, lobby, and history corridor. To echo the long history of L’Hopital Sainte Mariel, it integrates distinct French elements while taking into account the characteristics of the physical space. The exquisite production process gives off a thick and elegant atmosphere, leaving visitors a distinguished medical treatment experience. Passing through layers of French arches, visitors will learn about the past and present of Guang-ci in the history corridor.

设计融入了鲜明的法式元素
门诊及高端体检区每层大胆运用不同的色彩，缓解患者就诊压力的同时，形成各个空间鲜明的导视作用。愉悦的空间促进温馨的问候和亲切的交谈，有利于消除患者紧张情绪，建立信任感。简约明快的线条勾勒、暖色原木与天然石材搭配相得益彰，在亲近自然的氛围中点缀出品质感。
Each floor of the outpatient service and the high-end physical examination area boldly use diversified colors to relieve the pressure of patients in receiving medical treatment and form a distinct guide effect in each space. The pleasant space promotes warm greetings and cordial conversation, which is conducive to eliminating patients’ tension and establishing trust. The simple and lively outlines, warm color logs and natural stones match to bring out the best in each other, embellishing a sense of quality in the close to nature atmosphere.

病房注重充足的采光及自然温馨的氛围，使得患者处于舒适平和的康复环境之中。高品质的病房套间配有独立卫浴及电视设备，便于患者隐私的保护及便利。
The ward emphasizes sufficient lighting and natural and warm atmosphere, so that the patients are in a comfortable and peaceful rehabilitation environment. The high-quality ward suite is equipped with independent bathroom and TV set, for the protection and convenience of patients’ privacy.

抗衰中心承载广慈的特色服务之一，公共区域时尚的镜面不锈钢材质为空间注入新的能量，现代科技感与完美体态的曲线相结合；治疗室内部则更多使用体现自然舒适的材料，刚柔并济。
The anti-aging center carries one of the characteristic services of Guang-ci. The fashionable mirror stainless steel material in the public areas injects new energy into the space. The sense of modern technology and the curve of perfect posture are integrated. Inside the treatment room, more materials that reflect natural comfort are applied, coupling hardness with softness.

医院不仅是诊治的功能场所，也是生命健康理念的传达之所。为了促进健康信息的交流，我们在顶层设置了可变式的广慈沙龙多功能空间，无论医者还是患者踏进这个空间，都能享用到从身体到精神的重塑历程。
The hospital is not only a functional place for diagnosis and treatment, but also a place to convey the concept of life and health. To promote the exchange of health information, we set up a variable Guang-ci salon multi-functional space at the top floor, where both doctors and patients stepping in the space can enjoy the remodeling process from body to soul.

在医院行政办公区，“广慈蓝”色调为空间注入静谧的理性之感，办公室、会议空间、卫生间根据实际的使用需求进行合理配置，极大满足和优化了医务工作者的办公及沟通需要。
In the administrative office area of the hospital, the “Guang-ci Blue” tone injects a quiet sense of rationality into the space. The offices, meeting space and toilets are rationally configured according to the actual use needs, which greatly meets and optimizes the office and communication needs of the medical workers.

广慈医院项目作为水石EPC的实践，设计团队亦根据现行规范对项目进行了包括消防系统、结构加固、通风排烟、综合管网等整体建筑改造升级；并根据医疗使用功能需求对电梯、污水系统、氧气负压系统、外部内部供水系统、配电间设备增容改造。尤其是在思南路施工界面非常有限，且城市管理十分严格带来的施工条件难度很大的情况下，最终完成了合理的周期控制及综合高品质的呈现。
The Guang-ci hospital project is a practice of the Shuishi EPC. The design team carries out transformation and upgrading of the overall building, including the fire control system, structural reinforcement, ventilation and smoke exhaust, and comprehensive pipe network. It also increases the capacities of the elevators, sewage system, oxygen negative pressure system, external and internal water supply system, and power distribution room equipment according to the functional needs of medical use. In particular, despite the limited construction interface of Sinan Road, and the difficult construction conditions brought by strict urban management, we have finally completed the reasonable cycle control and comprehensive high-quality presentation.

Now, more and more medical institutions around the world have recognized that, in addition to curing diseases, the comfort and happiness of both patients and medical workers in the hospital space are important.
