China’s City of Weinan
渭南，是陕西的“东大门”，是西部大开发的“桥头堡”。总面积1.31万平方公里，总人口556万人。良好的区位优势，为渭南的腾飞，不断地拓展着发展空间。一次次的历史机遇，不断地叩击着蓄势待发的渭南。
Weinan is not only the “Eastern Gate” of Shaanxi Province, but also the “Bridgehead” of the Western Region Development. It covers a total area of 13.1 thousand square kilometers and has a total population of 5.56 million. By virtue of its advantages on good location and historical opportunities, Weinan can be continuously developed and poised.

这里是中国历史上文宗史圣的故乡，“字圣”仓颉、“酒圣”杜康、“史圣”司马迁，这几位光照千秋的文化始祖，都是渭南这块土地给中华民族最珍贵的馈赠。
Here is the hometown of sages of articles in history. Famous culture ancestors like Changjie, the “Chinese Character Inventor”, Dukang, the “Wine Inventor” and Sima Qian, the “History Sage” are the most precious gifts given to Chinese nation by Weinan.
“西岳峥嵘何壮哉，黄河如丝天际来。”李白的诗句，使渭南的天地坐标“华山”与“黄河”，气势如虹地从苍茫的大地上脱颖。以奇、险、峻、秀名扬中外的“西岳华山”，是这块土地“阳刚”的极致；而全国最大的黄河湿地——洽川，则替这方水土做着“灵秀”的代言。
“How lofty and steep the Mount Hua is, when I stand there to look at the Yellow River, which is like a silk line coming from the horizon.”, Li Bai' s poem makes Weinan’s coordinates of the “Mount Hua” and the “Yellow River” grandly stand from the vast land. The "Mount Hua" famous for its novelty, dangerousness, steepness and beauty is the “masculine” acme of this land; while the China’s largest wetland of the Yellow River-Hechuan, is just the “delicate beauty” endorsement for this area.
“势飞白云外，影倒黄河里”的华山，雄伟奇险，群峰挺秀，自古就被称为"奇险天下第一山"。华山还是我国著名的道教胜地，被称为“第四洞天”。
“Its top almost can be out of the cloud and its reflection is in the Yellow River”, the Mount Hua has been known as “the oddest mountain in the world” with its grandness and oddity as well as graceful peaks. The Mount Hua is also China’s famous Taoist resort known as the “Fourth Fairyland”.
“关关雎鸠，在河之洲；窈窕淑女，君子好逑。”黄河西岸风景如画的洽川，孕育了中国第一部诗歌总集《诗经》的开篇，它也因此被尊称为“中国爱情诗的源头”。
“Ospreys with harmonies sound of birds chirping gather on a small island in the river; that beautiful and virtuous maiden is the perfect spouse of a gentleman.” The picturesque Hechuan on the western coast of the Yellow River breeds the beginning of China’s first poetry anthology Book of Songs, so that it is honored as“the source of Chinese Love Poetry”.

The coast of the Yellow River and both coasts of Weihe River are with vast expanse of fertile land that is suitable for farming. On the 800-mile Shaanxi, Weinan has always been the rich “Hometown of Grain and Cotton”.
渭南，是陕西乃至全国重要的商品农业基地，也是发展食品工业的理想之地。目前，全市已形成了粮食、棉花、苹果、秦川牛、奶山羊、渔业等10大全国驰名的商品农业基地。苹果这一特色产业，已成为当地仅次于粮食生产的第二大产业。依托这一资源优势，渭南已经发展成为全国最大的浓缩苹果汁加工基地。
Weinan is the important commercial agriculture base of Shaanxi and even China and it’s also the ideal place for developing food industry. At present, the city has formed 10 national famous commercial agriculture bases of the grain, cotton, apple, Qinchuan cattle, dairy goat and fishery and so on, especially the unique industry of Apple, has become the local second largest industry after the food production. Relying on such a resource advantage, Weinan has developed into the China’s largest base for processing of concentrated apple juice.
丰富的矿产资源，是大自然馈赠给渭南人的又一份丰厚的家产。目前，这里已探明的矿藏有50多种，其中，煤、钼、金、水最具优势。如今，渭南是全国十大煤炭产地之一；钼矿储量居全国第二位；钼精粉年产量约占全国的一半，是亚洲最大的钼精粉生产基地；黄金年产量居全国第三；地热水和医饮兼用矿泉水，源多量大，被誉为“中国之最”。
Rich mineral resources are another generous gift given to the people of Weinan by nature. At present, there are more than 50 kinds of proven mineral resources, and coal, molybdenum, gold and water are the most advantageous. Today, Weinan is one of the China’s top ten major coal places of production; Molybdenum ore reserves rank the second place; Molybdenum powder output accounts for about half of China and it is the largest base for production of molybdenum powder in Asia; Its annual output of gold ranks the third place of China. Both thermal water and medical drink adopt mineral water, which is with many sources and of great amount, so that it is honored as the “China’s Best”.
资源优势蕴藏着巨大的开发潜力，目前，在全国的战略棋盘上，渭南已被定位成新兴的能源、重化工基地。
Its resource advantage has huge development potential. At present, Weinan has been positioned as a new-emerging energy and heavy chemical industry base on the strategic chess board of China.
