02|John Lewis is looking at many ways to deal with the turmoil of the epidemic
UK's leading chain department store John Lewis Partnership said it haddecided to diversify into financial services, gardening, housing and leasing inresponse to the market turmoil caused by the epidemic.
The company then considers reusing its store property, possibly workingwith third parties to produce affordable housing or leasing products or settingup a market to sell second-hand products.

03|Hammerson mulls sale of VIA Outlets stake
British shopping giant Hammerson confirmed on 3 August that it isconsidering the sale of its 50% interest in VIA Outlets to joint venturepartner APG, and is also considering equity financing through a rights issue, which mayraise 600 million pounds.
Rents excluding monthly and deferred payments rose to more than 30% in thethird quarter, as shopping centre flagship stores reopened across Europe,consumer traffic and sales improved. While 30% isn't a big number, it's a lotbetter than the 16% they had at the end of June.

05|Lord & Taylor宣布破产

Construction begins on 31 July for the $60 million Elara VillageNeighbourhood Centre shopping Centre, an 8,622 sq m site which is expected tobe completed by the end of 2021.
The project is planned to include a Colessupermarket, a childcare center, a medical center, a community center, a gymand a variety of specialty retail and dining spaces. More than 300 jobs will becreated once the project completed.

Mitsukoshi Isetan issued a profit warning on 29 July that its final lossfor the fiscal year 2020 to the end of March may widen to JPY60bn, close to itsworst record loss of JPY63.5bn in 2009.
Mitsukoshi Isetan stated its losseswere mainly due to the closure of stores as the epidemic and that it had decidedto cut its annual bonus to JPY9 for the first time in a decade to better meetthe challenge.

02|P&G gains profit in the fourth quarter, with SK-II rare double-digitdecline in sales
P&G recently posted a net profit of $2.786 billion in the three monthsto 30 June, up 4% from a year earlier to $17.698 billion, compared with a netloss of $5.237 billion a year earlier. The company’s sale rose5% to $70.95bn in fiscal 2020 while net profit jumped 230% to $13.103bn.
In the worst-hit quarter, P&G's cosmetics division posted flatyear-over-year sales of $3.176bn, with organic sales of beauty products such asOlay and Pantene rose 3% and organic sales such as SK-II skincare productsfalling by double digits.

04|Global Commercial Property Investment Plummets 57% in Q2
According to a new report by CBRE, much weaker commercial real estateinvestment volumes in the second quarter of 2020 reflect the impact of lockdownmeasures and border controls enacted to combat the COVID-19 crisis. Globalinvestment volume fell by 57% year-over-year to $109 billion, the lowestquarterly total since 2010.
The Americas region was hit the hardest, with a 70% year-over-year declinemainly due to fewer large portfolio transactions and the absence ofentity-level deals. EMEA and APAC had 38% and 46% declines in total volume,respectively, as uncertainty and restrictions hampered investor sentiment.

11|Revenue of Vans parent company fell 48% in the first quarter
In the first quarter ending June 30, the revenue of VF Group, the parentcompany of Vans, fell 48% to $1.1 billion year-on-year, and its gross profitmargin decreased by 340 basis points to 52.9%, with an operating loss of $247million and an adjusted operating loss of $230 million.
VF Group said thedecline in performance was mainly affected by the closure of stores during theepidemic and the continued downturn in consumer demand. It is currentlyaccelerating its digital business, especially in the Chinese market. It isexpected that the decline in the second quarter will not exceed 25%, and theannual cash flow will still reach 600 million US dollars.

UNIQLO, a fast fashion brand, recently announced its preliminary results inJapan in July, with sales up 4.7% year-on-year and 4.4% in the same store.UNIQLO said strong consumer demand for home clothes helped boost same storesales despite prolonged rainfall and low temperatures in Japan this month.Thanks to the sales of masks, UNIQLO Japan also recorded a strong growth of26.2% in June covering e-commerce.

西班牙快时尚品牌Mango日前透露,在电商渠道50%的强劲增长推动下,品牌在一些主要市场的销售表现正在迅速恢复,接近去年同期录得的创纪录销售水平。

Overall, Mango's revenue fell 10% inGermany, 4% in Belgium and 10% to 14% in the Netherlands and Switzerland.However, Chief Executive Toni Ruiz stressed that the brand's performance in allmarkets was better than expected, and the target of 30% of total revenue ofe-commerce business may be achieved ahead of schedule.

The Makris Group, founded by south Australian billionaire Con Makris in the1980s, will sell two of its well-known retail assets, the Rundle Mall'sBlue-chip City Cross Shopping Centre and the office complex fronting GrenfellStreet, with a total area of 10,512 square meters and estimate value about $200million.
The group said the properties will be offered for sale individually or in-one-line.

据悉7-11便利店母公司Seven & i Holdings 将斥资210亿美元收购美国最大的石油公司Marathon旗下的便利店业务Speedway。该笔收购是Seven& i Holdings迄今最大的一笔收购。
公司发布声明称,将以全现金的方式完成该笔交易,并期望在明年第一季度完成收购。
Speedway为全美第二大连锁便利商店,在36个州共有约 3900 家门店,其主要业务形态是便利店和加油站比邻经营。此次收购也表现出 7-11 便利店对北美市场的野心,借由此笔收购,其在北美的零售点将达到 14000 家。

02|The parent company of 7-11 spent $21 billion to buy the second-largestchain stores in US
Seven & I Holdings, the parent company of 7-eleven, is said to bebuying convenience store Speedway of Marathon for $21bn, which is the largestUS oil company. Once completed, this transaction will be Seven& I Holdings'biggest to date.
The company said in a statement that it would close the deal by all-cashand expects to close the acquisition in the first quarter of next year.
Speedway is America's second-biggest chain of convenience stores, with3,900 stores in 36 states. Its main business is to run convenience stores andpetrol stations next door to each other. The acquisition also shows 7-Eleven'sambitions in North America, where it will have 14,000 retail stores.

据悉,经过近两年的沟通和谈判,由全球头号奢侈品集团 LVMH(路威酩轩)控股的著名免税购物集团 DFS 正式成为深圳免税集团旗下电商公司的新股东。
本次股权合作中,深圳免税集团的股比不变,仍以占股40%的比例位居国免易购的第一大股东,DFS集团则以占股22%的比例位居第二大股东。
深圳免税集团表示,DFS集团的入股将有利于集团进一步补充完善供应链体系、丰富商品品类、降低采购成本、提高运营能力,从而实现转型升级,这也是推进国企综合改革道路上的一种探索和尝试。

It is reported that world-known duty-free shopping group DFS controlled bythe world’s top luxury group LVMH has officially has finally joined an e-commercecompany under the Shenzhen Duty Free Group.
In this equity cooperation, Shenzhen Duty Free Group's shareholding ratioremains unchanged and still ranks as the largest shareholder of the e-commercecompany with a share of 40%. DFS Group ranks second with 22% shares.
Shenzhen Duty Free Group stated that DFS Group’s s joiningwill help the group further complement and improve its supply chain system,enrich product categories, reduce procurement costs, improve operationalcapabilities.
