journey：旅行（一般指陆地上的长途旅行）
split：裂开，劈开。 One day the rock split open.

scratch：抓，挠。 After a few minutes, one monkey scratched her head.
source: 源头，出处，根源。 Why don't we follow the stream to find its source?

短语积累：

work...on...:（1）影响，对……起作用 ;（2）继续工作;（3）从事于……;（4）设法说服 The sun, the moon, Heaven, and Earth all worked their magic on the rock.
Find out:弄清，查明。 Find out what caused that light.
rushed out of: 冲出，奔出。 The captain rushed out of the hall.
As time passed：随着时间的流逝。 As time passed, Monkey learned to walk, run, and climb.
one another：彼此，互相。 They all looked at one another and shook their heads.
shook their heads：（1）摇头（shake-shook）；（2）奶昔。 They all looked at one another and shook their heads.
sound like: 听起来。 That sounds like fun.
Higher and higher：越来越高。 Higher and higher they went up the mountain until they reached an enormous waterfall.
step forward: 向前走。 Everyone moved out of the way as the speaker stepped forward.
be afraid of：害怕。 I'm not afraid of anything!
took a deep breath：深呼吸。 Monkey took a deep breath and leaped into the waterfall.
