三伏天在英文中的表达为“Sanfu Days”或者“Dog days”，可以说是很贴切了，三伏天真的“热成狗”。
Sanfu Days, or dog days of summer, refers to the periods that are predicted to be the hottest days of the year, which are called Toufu, Zhongfu and Mofu.
三伏天指的是一年中最热的时间，包括头伏、中伏和末伏。
三伏天的热度究竟有多可怕呢？
非洲兄弟杨过表示：太热了，我要回非洲去！
既然“三伏天”可以表达为“Dog Days”，那么关于dog，还有些什么谚语呢？
和"dog"有关的谚语
1. Better be the head of a dog than the tail of a lion.
* 宁为犬首，不作狮尾。

三伏天来了，全国各地高温预警，那么，怎么表示“我很热”呢？
1. 形容词
1）scorching
例：
How can we possibly avoid this scorching, pitiless sun?
我们究竟怎样才能躲避灼热骄阳？
例：
Guangzhou is really scorching in high summer.
广州的盛夏热得灼人。
2）sizzling
这个词一般表达的是“热到地面都被烤到滋啦啦响”的意思，通常与heat搭为“sizzling heat"来使用。
例：
This sizzling heat is absolutely intolerable.
这热天完全不能忍啊。
例：
We cannot get through this sizzling heat without air-conditioner.
这种炎热天气，无空调，不成活。
3）scalding
这个词表达的是“热到把人都烫伤的”那种热！
例：
The scalding heat boils furiously and incesantly, rising to the height of two or three feet.
灼热酷暑无情袭来，热浪高达两至三英尺 。
4）sultry
这个词一般形容天气，指湿热难耐的天气
例：
The sultry summer in Guangzhou is stiflingly oppressive.
广州湿热的夏天让人窒息，闷热难耐。
例：
The sultry weather in the tourist spot we went encouraged us to lead an indolent life.
我们旅行景点闷热的气候使得我们只能在那里懒散度日。
5）boiling
酷热的，除了表达天气热，还有极其愤怒的意思。
例：
We felt sluggish on such a boiling hot day and could only slop around.
在如此酷热的天气下，我们动也不想动，只能懒洋洋地走。
6）blistering
酷热的；起泡的；激烈的
例：
In the blistering sun they stood patiently, like a small battalion.
骄阳下他们耐心地站着，像一个小军营。
这个词的动词形式是blister，意思是使起水泡；痛打；猛烈抨击。
例：
The sap of this plant blisters the skin.
这种植物的汁液会使皮肤起水疱。
7）muggy
闷热
I can’t stand this muggy day.
我受不了这么闷热的天气。
2. 名词
1）heat
最基本但最好用的一个词，使用生动的表达能让这个词增色不少。
例：
This heat is broiling me and I can just hear freckles popping out on my neck.
看把我热的，我都听到痱子在我脖子上暴跳的声音了！
例：
In this blistering heat, nobody would want to get stuck in traffic.
酷暑如此，没人想被堵在路上。
2）torridity
这个词就是形容词：torrid（炎热的）的名词形式啦。
例：
When someone asks why British people cannot be cool about the hot summer, I would say that it is not as if this national adaptability to torridity is all that recent.
当有人问我为什么英国人对天气不能淡定点的时候，我会说英国人并非最近才开始适应炎热气候的。
一些地道表达：
1. It is awfully hot and our bodies are steamed with sweat.
我们热到浑身是汗。
2. The heat is driving me up the wall. / It is terribly hot and I start to feel strange.
我感觉我要热疯了。
3. It is raining fire. / The sun is splitting stones.
天在吐火！！！
4. It is such a scorcher that you could boil a kettle on your head out there.
天气热得你在外面可以在头上烧开一壶水。
5. Today is really a therometer breaker. I have no better idea than going swimming.
今天热得温度计都要报表了，除了游泳我想不到其他生存方式。
6. I can’t bear the heat; I am leaking. / I am sweating like a pig/ a chicken.
这天热的，我汗流得哗哗的。
7. I am nearly melting !
我简直热到快融化了。
melting [’mɛltɪŋ] 融化的、熔化的，其动词是melt
天气热的时候都会有种快被热到融化的感觉，这时可以用这句话来形容。
8. It is burning hot !
天气超级热！
burning 是在燃烧的感觉，而天气热到快烧起来了，当然代表非常炎热啦。这和boiling有异曲同工之妙。
9. It is stifling ! I can hardly breathe.
天气热到要窒息！我快不能呼吸了。
stifle [’staɪfl] 有窒息的意思，因此可以用 stifling 形容又热又闷的天气，而闷热也可以说是stifling heat。
10. I can’t stand such sultry weather any more!
我再也不能忍受这种湿热的天气了！
sultry [’sʌltri] 可以用来描述又热又潮湿(hot and humid) 的天气，另外也可以用 sweltering。
例如：Taiwan’s weather is sweltering. 台湾的天气真是湿热。
11. The heat is killing me !
我快被热死了！
用kill描述快被炎热的天气热死了，是最直接最形象的说法。
12. I am sweating like a pig, and I’m not doing anything.
虽然我什么都没做，但还是汗流浃背。
sweat like a pig 汗如雨下、大汗淋漓
13. Let’s stay at home; you could fry eggs on the sidewalk.
我们呆在家里吧，人行道上都可以煎蛋了。
fry eggs 煎蛋，可以在路上煎蛋了，有多热不需要解释了吧。
14. Today is a thermometer breaker ! Let’s go swimming.
今天热得温度计都要爆了！我们去游泳吧。
thermometer-breaker 温度计都要热爆了
15. I don’t want to go out; it’s raining fire !
我不想出去，天气火热火热的！
raining fire 热得像下火，也就是火热火热的。
16. It’s not just hot. It’s Africa hot ! This weather is terrible.
不止是热，是像非洲一样热！天热得吓人。
非洲有“热带大陆”之称，像非洲一样热，你可以想象有多热吗？
17. I’m sweating buckets.
我热到汗流浃背。
sweat bucket 汗流浃背，大汗淋漓
18. It’s hot with a capital "H". Turn up theair conditioner!
今天是最热的一天，快把空调打开！
with a capital "某个大写字母"，是一个很地道的表达方式，就像我们经常会说，“XX，真是大写的服气！”
It’s hot with a capital "H"的意思是，天气真是热到一定境界了。
记得学英语之前一直说“我很热”是 I’m hot，感觉寄几讲的可对了啦，hot不就是热的意思嘛，其实，I’m hot还有我很火辣的意思！！
1. The sun began to grow hot.
having a high temperature；producing heat.表示太阳渐渐热起来，表温度变热高，天气变热
2. If somebody has a hot temper they become angry very easily.
如果一个人有个坏脾气，他们会很容易生气，hot指易发怒，脾气暴躁的
3. It tastes spicy and hot.
这里的hot就表示食物很辣。另外hot food 不是说“这个食物很热”，而是指“这个食物很烫”
4. I’m hot.
按汉语语序翻译是我很热的意思，不过还有我好性感的意思，说我很热的时候其实还可以说 I feel hot哦。
5. so hot
例：
Second-skin colors are so hot for spring/summer 2011 as long as you choose the most flattering shade for yourskin complexion.
裸色是2011春夏季的热门颜色，你只要需要找到与自己肤色最相衬的裸色。
在这里，so hot相当于popular，受欢迎的、热门的。
6. hot desking，说的并不是桌子很热~而是有点资源共享的意思。比如办公室每个人都有自己的办公桌，hot desking就是桌子电脑不是专门给某个人用的，而是谁需要谁就用，它的动词形式是hot desk。
例：
You will have to hot-desk until more accommodation can be found.
在固定办公位出来之前，你只能看哪里有位置就坐哪里了。
7. 受欢迎的，得宠的
Hawaii is a really hot weekend destination.
夏威夷可是炙手可热的周末度假胜地。
He is one of the hottest young talents around.
他是这里当红的青年才俊。
全国各地已经进入了“集中供暖期”，晒成烤鸭不是梦，不过大家还是记得日常及时补充水分，少喝饮料多喝水，补水是王道！！
