Amusement Park 游乐园

Merry-go-round 旋转木马

Mom: What would you like to do first?

妈妈：你想先玩什么？

We're spending all of today at the park,

我们今天会在游乐园呆一整天，

so we can make sure to hit all the different rides.

这样肯定能玩上所有的项目。

Child: Hm… how about the merry-go-round?

宝宝：嗯……旋转木马怎么样？

注意，是round，不是around；另外，旋转木马也叫carousel。

Mom: Okay, a gentle way to start the day off.

妈妈：好的，用温和的方式开始新的一天。

And it's a classic amusement park ride,

而且这是一个经典的游乐园项目，

so we need to make sure to ride it.

我们一定得玩上它。

乘坐游乐园的项目，既可以用ride，也可以用ride on。

There it is.

这儿呢。

See it?

看到了吗？

All the little horses under the circular tent.

圆形帐篷下的各种小马。

Child: Yup!

宝宝：嗯！

I like this unicorn!

我喜欢这只独角兽！

Can I ride it?

我能骑它吗？

Mom: Sure.

妈妈：当然。

Go ahead and sit on the horse.

快去坐到马上吧。

I'll ride this Pegasus.

我要骑这匹飞马。

Remember, hold on to the pole.

记住，扶着杆儿。

Child: Woo!

宝宝：哇！

This is fun.

真好玩。

It goes up and down like a real horse.

上上下下的就像真马一样。

Roller Coaster 过山车

Child: What's next, Mommy?

宝宝：下一个玩什么，妈妈？

Mom: Next is the roller coaster.

妈妈：下一个是过山车。

It goes up and down along a track.

它沿着轨道上下起伏。

Daddy is going to ride that by himself

爸爸一会儿自己坐，

because you are not old enough to ride it,

因为你还不够大，还玩不了，

but we can watch from down here.

但是我们可以从下面看。

Child: Okay.

宝宝：好吧。

Mom: Look, the cars are slowly but surely climbing up the first incline of the ride.

☀ Hearing screams 听到尖叫

Child: Oh boy, that sounds scary!

Mom: Well, it's kind of exciting to a lot of people.

Your dad will feel weightless

and lift off his seat a little.

Child: Will he go upside down?

Will he fall out?

Mom: He'll go upside down four times,

but no, he won't fall out.

The designers spent a lot of time

making sure the roller coasters are safe for everyone.

Child: Look, Daddy's hair is all messed up!

Mom: Yup, the wind from that ride did that!

Log Flume 激流勇进

Mom: I thought we might spend this hot summer day with a cool water ride.

妈妈：我想我们可以用清凉的水上项目来度过炎热的一天。

See it over there?

那边呢，看见了吗？

Let's go ahead and get in line.

我们去排队吧。

Child: Here's our boat.

宝宝：这是我们的船。

Mom: Just slide into a row.

妈妈：随便找一排坐下。

Child: Can I sit in the front row?

宝宝：我能坐在前排吗？

Mom: Yes, that's fine.

妈妈：嗯，行。

Here comes the first chute!

第一个滑道来了!

Chute读作 [ʃu:t]。

Whee!

哦!

Child: I got totally splashed with water!

宝宝：我被溅了一身水！

That was fun!

真好玩！

Is there another one?

还有吗?

Mom: Yes, there are several more.

妈妈：嗯，还有几个。

Don't worry,

别担心，

there's lots more water to soak up!

还有足够多的水让你湿透!

Child: Good.

宝宝：太好了。

I can't wait!

我等不及了!

Ferris Wheel 摩天轮

Child: Will we have time to ride on the Ferris wheel, too?

宝宝：我们还有时间去坐摩天轮吗?

Mom: Yep, I planned on riding that around sunset

妈妈：嗯，我打算在日落的时候坐它，

so we could take in the pretty views.

这样我们可以领略美丽的景色。

Child: Can we ride this one together as a family?

宝宝：我们能一家人一起坐这个吗?

Mom: Sure.

妈妈：当然。

The cabins we sit in are large enough

我们坐的那些小舱足够大，

to hold all three of us.

Go ahead and get in the car.

快上车吧。

The door's open.

门开了。

Child: Uh-oh!

宝宝：哎呀！

It's rocking!

它在晃!

Mom: It's supposed to.

妈妈：是这样的。

That way it rotates

这样它才能转起来，

and stays upright as the giant wheel turns.

大轮子转动时才能保持直立。

Alright, sit down and be still.

好了，坐下不动。

Child: Here we go!

宝宝：走了！

Mom: Yup!

妈妈：是的！

Looks like we'll go around one more time.

看来我们还要再绕一圈。

Child: It's a great view of the park from here.

宝宝：从这里看游乐园景色真美。

Mom: Exactly.

妈妈：是的。

It's a nice end to our day in the amusement park.这是我们在游乐园的一天的美好结尾。
