Describe an expensive item you bought recently. You should say:
- What you bought
- why you chose it
- what you use or needed it for
- whether it was good value
- whether you are happy with it and why or why not
An expensive item I bought recently is a suit.
Generally, I do not spend too much on clothing and I'm not very fashion-conscious either. In fact, I tend to wear the same things: T-shirts, jeans and sneakers, as for me the most important thing is feeling comfortable, not to mention wearing practical clothing. However, as mentioned, I did buy a nice and well-fitting suit that cost more than what I usually pay for clothes. The reason why I purchased this suit is because I really needed one for formal office occasions.
The suit is in a classic dark blue. It's elegant and stylish and without buttons and I wear this suit for business meetings and conferences. On such occasions, a well-cut suit or dress is a must-have item for females, I think.
Other than meetings, I also need it for the office, where the employees are required to wear formal clothing from Monday to Thursday. The suit jacket also serves a very practical purpose - to protect me from freezing in the near-freezer conditions of the office in the summer because of the insanely low temperatures of the air conditioning system.
I think my suit was well worth the price I paid for it and I'm quite satisfied with it, not to mention I think it will last for a very long time, which in a way, is money-saving, but in saying that, I will probably buy another one….an expensive suit once a year I think is reasonable!
