先说说这篇文章《乌鸦和火龙果》的写作背景，我们小区有四只乌鸦，经过小儿观察，发现他们是乌鸦家庭，有乌鸦爸爸，乌鸦妈妈，乌鸦哥哥和乌鸦弟弟。这四只乌鸦就住在我们小区，所谓靠山吃山靠水吃水，这些乌鸦天天靠捡拾地上的食物为生，我家阳台上的火龙果今年大丰收，小儿很担心乌鸦会啄这些火龙果，据小儿说学校的乌鸦将小朋友种的西红柿都吃光了，因此小儿就构思了此文，另外小儿天天户外活动，和各类鸟儿都成了朋友，他打算写一个小鸟系列，这篇只是其中之一。
这篇文章给老师看了之后，大加赞美，说非常完美，至少有五年级水平，小儿刚刚升入四年级，因此大受鼓舞，打算继续写下去。
Bird series—crows and dragon fruits

The crow family lived on our building. The crow family have two baby crows , Daddy crow and mummy crow. Every day , Daddy crow searched for food which left on the ground with his sharp blue eyes. He was really like a busy worker cleaning the road ,and at the same time Mummy crow watched baby crows at home.
One day ,Daddy crow came back from finding food. ”Good news! Good news!” he exclaimed .“what is it? what is it?” questioned baby crow.”I saw four dragon fruits!” said Daddy crow. Brother crow, who was good at maths, concluded” one dragon fruit for each of us!” “I don’t want to eat the same food everyday and finally I have something new to eat!” said baby crow jumping up and down.
The excited crows happily flapped their wings. Don’t want to be seen, they hid into a tree next to the dragon fruit tree. Baby crow’s mouth watered when he saw the fruit gleaming in the sun like rubies.
“How can we steal them?” asked baby crow. Brother crow who was keen to eat the dragon fruit declared ”I want to steal them now!””No, wait for several days for it to ripe.” advised Daddy crow.” That is a good idea” admitted brother crow. They flew home.

“Today we will have a banquet!” said baby crow. They were too excited to sleep anymore. It was still dark outside. Road lameps’ blurred yellow light looked like an old man taking a nap. There was no people down the sidewalk. ”it is still early outside”replied Daddy crow.
They waited until 9:30 and then hid into the same tree.”Don’t be that excited”said daddy crow”I will have a check”, he flew away…”when Daddy come back?”baby crow asked impatiently.”he will come back soon”Mummy crow consoled baby crow. Just as she finished the sentence ,Daddy crow back”bad news !bad news! The dragon fruit disappeared!”moaned Daddy crow. ”it is just unbelieveable!” cried mother crow. “my breakfast flew away and my tummy is still empty!” wimpered baby crow. “This can’t be true!”objected brother crow “we must have a look!”
The four crows flapped their wings like a big black cloud drifting toward the dragon fruit tree. They searched around the tree many times.”Daddy ,you are right the dragon fruit really disappeared…”sighed the brother crow.
“ I saw something” murmured Mummy crow,”what ?” baby crow asked. Mummy crow pointed with her wing, on the balcony was a boy eating dragonfruit, he looked like a vampire with blood dripping from his mouth. His hands was covered with sticky dragon fruit blood. He looked like he enjoyed the fruit deeply. This made the crows very angry, Daddy crow wanted to peak the dragon fruit on the boy’s hand but he controlled himself. The crows watched the boy finished one and another dragon fruit until the last. “Totally four!” screeched brother crow,his eyeball nearly fall out. “he ate out all of them!” wined baby crow. The crows stuck in despair! They gave up and decided to go home.

Just as they about to go home,Mummy crow said”wait and look carefully!” then the crows seek carefully again and found a dragon fruit! It was hidden in the plants which creeped to the neighbour balcony, so it was lucky to avoid the boy wolfing. Now the crows’ tummy were rumbling ,so they rushed toward the dragon fruit like a group of foxes attacked a chicken, what a poor fruit! It can’t endure the crows’ violent peck so it committed suicide! The fruit jumped down with a loud thump and fell into downstairs’ backyard. The crows saw it then flew down and begin to snatch pieces of the smashed dragon fruit.
“what happened?” bellowed the owner ,she saw the crows and shooed them away. The crows flew into a nearby bush, after the owner went back into her house ,they flew down to eat the remaining part. After a few seconds, they finished swallowing “it was a pity that there was no more tasty dragon fruit!” baby crow felt sorry.

“There is something there!” shouted brother crow. All four of them caught sight of a green baby dragon fruit.”we will come back a few days later to eat it .”said Daddy crow.
