Daddy Makes the Best Spaghetti
《爸爸做的意大利面最好吃》
When Daddy picks me up at the day-care center and takes me to the grocery store he says, "Well, Corey, what shall we have for dinner?"
当爸爸去日托中心接我去杂货店时，说：“科里，我们晚饭吃什么？”
"Spaghetti," I say.
Daddy makes the best spaghetti.
“意大利面，”我说。
爸爸做的意大利面最好吃。
He lets me push the cart and I remind him not to forget the hamburger.
Sometimes Daddy plays a joke on me …
他让我推车，我提醒他不要忘记买汉堡。
有时爸爸会跟我开玩笑…
"How much for this sack of potatoes?" he asks.
"Those are free today," says the clerk.
"Great bargain," Daddy says, " I'll take them."
He's so silly!
“这袋土豆多少钱？”他问。
“这些今天是免费的，”店员说。
“太好了，”爸爸说，“我要了。”
他看起来傻傻的！
At home I help Daddy cook.
I find the right lids for the pots. I wash the vegetables.
到家后，我帮爸爸做饭。
我找到了合适的锅盖。
我洗蔬菜。
And I set the table, one, two, three.
One for Daddy. One for Mommy. One for me.
我摆好桌子，一、二、三。
一个给爸爸。一个给妈妈。一个给我。
When Mommy comes home she says,
"Hello, Dears."
Daddy makes antlers and gives her a kiss.
当妈妈回家时，她说：“你好，亲爱的。”
爸爸用手比作鹿角，给了她一个吻。
"Ummm!" Mommy says.
"Something smells good."
"It's spaghetti," I say, "and I helped."
“嗯！”妈妈说。“闻起来很香。”
“这是意大利面，”我说，“我也在帮忙。”
Mommy gives us hugs and we give her some dinner.
"This spaghetti is especially good," she says.
妈妈给我们一个大大的拥抱，
我们一起共进晚餐。
“这意大利面特别好吃，”她说。
After dinner I help Mommy with the dishes.
I like to make lots of bubbles.
"Look, Mommy!"
晚饭后我帮妈妈洗碗。
我喜欢弄出很多泡泡。
“看，妈妈！”
"Looks like a bubble mountain," she says.
"Look at our bubble mountain, Daddy," I say.
But Daddy's gone.
“看起来像一座泡泡山，”她说。
“看看我们的泡泡山，爸爸，”我说。
但爸爸不见了。
"Oh oh, " I say.
"I think it's happening again."
Mommy makes big eyes.
“哦，哦，”我说。“又来了。”
妈妈睁大了眼睛。
Then in come… Ta da! Ta daaaa!
… Bathman!
然后爸爸进来了… 哒哒！哒哒！…洗澡超人！
He swoops me up and flies me right to the tub.
他猛地把我架起来，飞到浴缸里。
He makes the boats go so fast they splash.
他让船开得很快，溅起水花。
Then the washcloth turns into a sea monster that nibbles my toes and ears and nose.
"Stop monster!" I say. "It tickles!"
然后，毛巾变成了一只海怪，咬我的脚趾、耳朵和鼻子。
“怪物，停下来！”我说。“太痒了！”
I get lost in the great big towel.
"Oh, no!" Daddy says.
"I've lost Corey. What will Mommy say?
And who will help me make spaghetti?"
我被埋在巨大的毛巾里。
“哦，不！”爸爸说。
“我把科里弄丢了。妈妈会怎么说呢？
谁来帮我做意大利面呢？"
So I pop out and say, "Don't worry. I will."
But Daddy's gone.
我跳了出来说：“别担心，我会的。”
但爸爸不见了。
Where can he be?
Not behind the shower curtain.
Not behind the door.
他会在哪儿呢？
不在浴帘后面。
不在门后面。
Not in the hallway.
"Oh oh…"
不在走廊里。
“哦哦…”
"Woof! Woof!"
"Oh silly dog! Those are't ears," I say.
"They're feet!"
"I don't believe it!" Daddy says.
“哦，傻狗狗！那不是往耳朵套的，”我说。
“它们是用来穿在脚上的！”
“我才不相信呢！”爸爸说。
So I show him how they go.
Snap! Snap! Snap!
And I'm all done.
所以我向爸爸演示它们怎么用。
啪！ 啪！啪！
很快我就穿好了！
"I'm done too," says Mommy and we sit on the couch…one, two, three…with me all cozy in between while Mommy reads a story.
“我也刷完了，”妈妈说，一、二、三…… 我们惬意地坐在沙发上，听妈妈讲故事。
Then Daddy carries me in to bed,
然后爸爸把我抱上床，
Mommy tucks me in,
妈妈给我掖好被子，
and we have kisses…one, two, three.
One for Mommy…one for Daddy…
我们相互亲吻… 一、二、三。
我亲了亲妈妈… 亲了亲爸爸…
Two for me!
爸爸妈妈亲了亲我！
