Hi, I'm Mike, I run a store in Shanghai called Kaffiend and also the brand Principle of ACU. I have a background in clothing/footwear/accessories manufacturing, as well as brand distribution. During my college years in Boston, I ran a website called kookies.net and I blogged about street fashion in Hong Kong and sneakers. My passion for street fashion derived mainly from sneakers and graffiti. I was very into sneakers and graffiti during my teenage years, and with the growth of the internet in the late 90s I began to read and study sneakers. Ever since then I started to venture out into clothing and then I started reading Japanese magazines. From then on, I began to follow a lot of streetwear fashion, as well as being a part of ACU/CLOT.

关于中国市场 About Chinese streetwear market

The Chinese streetwear market has been growing substantially. Since 2006 till now, I have been closely following the industry, the recent 3-4 years has been great for the market. The larger population of people outside of the main cities has been following local brands via wechat/taobao/tmall/wechat and people are starting to support local stuff. The international brands still hold a large place in many peoples closet but the recent trend of supporting local brands has been growing and I foresee the future to be even stronger for Chinese brands. (look at the electronic + car industry)
