Weird stat: DeMarcus Cousins gets blocked more than any other player in the NBA... and it isn't even close

When you think of players that get blocked a lot, you might think of the short guys. Generally that is true, shorter guys who like driving the lane tend to get blocked the most, but there is one huge exception: DeMarcus Cousins.

It's not even close! And Boogie is the only non-guard on the entire list! The difference between Boogie and the #2 player on the list is the same as the difference between #2 and #27 (CJ McCollum).

Yeah people tend to overrate Cousins’ athleticism and think he’s like Shaq or something. He’s big and skilled but he’s not flying around the court. On the Olympic team there was a clear difference between him and DeAndre Jordan in that regard.

He's more than not Shaq, he's straight up unathletic. He had the slowest average speed this year for any players with more than 5 mpg. His max vert was 27.5 - one of the lowest first round verts ever. Dude is the opposite of Shaq in the athlete department.

I mean this is absolutely true.
Boogie isn't a monster athlete by any means, but average speed is terrible to use for Boogie since he literally just stands around like 70% of the time. He only really moves when he has the ball on offense, or when he's chasing down someone to try to block them after he *ucfk**ed up the pick and roll defense.

Seriously... my vertically challenged ass has blocked plenty of big dudes that can't jump. It's not that hard you just have to time it. Then hit em with the dikembe finger wag
It's the big dudes that can move with you that make you want to take your ball and go home
真格的。就我这种弹跳不咋地的选手都帽过一堆不能跳的大个子，只要找准时机就很简单。盖帽后再学着穆大叔摇手指，美滋滋。
但是如果遇到脚步灵活不输自己的大个子，就只能抱球回家了。

Before he was traded, I asked Cousins why he gets blocked so much, and he said that I didn’t have to search for a complicated explanation. “It’s because I can’t jump,” he said. “It’s really as simple as that.”
