在缅甸的印度第五师当了将近五年的工程师后，他回到英国，对自己想从事什么职业没有明确的想法。进入珠宝设计行业纯属偶然——他从未接受过正式的培训。

风格
He was inspired to design jewelry after visiting an exhibition of contemporary painting and sculpture in 1961, given by The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths. He approached jewelry design with his new esthetic vision. He wanted to break with existing design traditions, and explore more organic aspects of design.

Grima loved unusual stones and minerals, and used them often for his jewels. This brooch features a beautiful slice of agate which is set into a complimentary textured 18k gold surround, with just a few small diamonds for sparkle.
