14、go out 外出（娱乐）
out 副词，意为“外出”
Don't go out on school nights.上学日的夜晚不要外出娱乐。
—May I speak to John,please？请让约翰接电话好吗？
—Sorry，he is out.对不起，他出去了。
拓展：go out 还有"（火或灯光）熄灭；过时，不再流行”之意。
The light went out.灯灭了。
Short skirts go out this year. 短裙今年不流行了。
15、practice v.练习（=practise)练习；实践
（ 高频考点 ）
practice the guitar 练习吉他
（1）[动词]练习（此处用法）
其后可以接名词、代词或动词-ing形式作宾语。 （ing形式用法为常考点）
在英式英语中，动词用practise,名词用practice；在美式英语中，动词和名词都用practice。
You need to practice English every day.你需要每天练习英语。
These foreigners are practicing speaking Chinese.
这些外国人正在练习说汉语。
（2）[名词]练习
Practice makes perfect.熟能生巧。
Learning English needs practice.学习英语需要练习。
典例 用所给词的适当形式填空。
Practice makes perfect. So it's best for us to practice_(run) on the playground every evening.
答案：running
16、do the dishes 清洗餐具（the不能省去）
dish：碟；盘 [可数名词]
常用the dishes 表示”（待清洗的）餐具”。
• The glass dish is beautiful. 那个玻璃盘很漂亮。
dish：[可数名词]菜肴；一道菜
The dish doesn't look nice, but it tastes very delicious.这道菜看起来不怎么样，但是尝起来很美味。
do the dishes ：清洗餐具 相当于 wash the dishes.
We must do the dishes in time.我们必须及时清洗餐具。
17、before 介词.&连词 在……以前。副词.以前 （高频考点）
before dinner 晚饭前
（1）[介词]在……以前（此处用法）
表示时间，反义词为after（在……后）。
You must go to bed before 9 o'clock.你必须在9点前上床睡觉。
（2）[连词]在……以前，后接句子。
Do it before you forget.尽早动手，免得忘了。
（3）[副词]以前
I've been here before.我以前来过这儿。
拓展：[介词]在……的前面
表示位置关系，其反义词为behind"在……的后面”。
There is a desk before me and a chair behind me.我的前面有一张书桌，后面有一把椅子。
典例(2022中考)
To avoid the virus(病毒), we should wash hands more carefully__ we have meals.
A. so B. before
C. because D. although
解析：句意：为了避开病毒，我们应该在吃饭前更仔细地洗手。so"因此”；before"在……以前"；because"因为"；although"虽然”。根据常识可知，饭前要洗手，故选B。
18、too many 太多
There are too many rules！（我这儿）规定太多啦！
辨别：too many, too much 与 much too
too many：“太多”，修饰可数名词复数。
He has a stomachache because he eats too many bananas.他胃疼是因为他吃了太多香蕉。
too much意为”太多”，修饰不可数名词。
There is too much water on the floor.地板上的水太多了。
much too：“太，非常”，修饰形容词或副词。
The weather is much too cold. Please put on more clothes.天气太冷了，请多穿衣服。
巧学妙记
too many, too much 与 much too的用法
too many 要记住，其后名词必复数。
too much,much too，用法区别在尾部;
much后接不可数，too后接形或副。
19、leave sth.+地点状语把某物留在某处
Don't leave the dirty dishes in the kitchen!
别把脏餐具留在厨房里！
leave为及物动词，意为"把……留在某处”
• She leaves the bag on the sofa and goes into the kitchen.她把包放在沙发上，然后走进厨房。
20、 dirty 脏的→反义词为clean(干净的)
The clothes on the sofa are dirty.沙发上的衣服是脏的。
He saw nothing but a dirty boy.除了一个脏兮兮的男孩，他什么也没看见。（2022中考）
21、more 更多（的) 介词/连词
At school, we have more rules — don't be noisy,don't eat in class,...在学校，我们有更多的规定——不能喧哗，不能在课堂上吃东西，
（1）[形容词]更多（的）（此处用法）
此处是many的比较级，修饰可数名词复数(rules)。more还可作much的比较级，修饰不可数名词。
I have more books than her.我的书比她的多。
You should drink more water. 你应该多喝水。
（2）[代词]更多
The cake is delicious. I want some more.这蛋糕很好吃，我想再来一些。
22、 noisy adj.吵闹的，反义词为quiet（安静的） （高频考点）
Turn down the TV. It's too noisy.把电视声音调小一些，太吵了。
Turn down意为"把……调低；关小”
noise n.响声；噪声
noisy adj.吵闹的
make noises/a noise发出声响
Don't make a noise.别出声。
They are making too much noise.他们的吵闹声太大了。
23、relax v.放松；休息
After dinner, I can't relax either.晚饭后我也不能放松。
第三人称单数形式为relaxes
Don't be nervous.Just relax.不要紧张，放松点。

relaxing adj.令人放松的
relaxed adj.放松的
语境串记：The music is very relaxing. After listening to it, I feel relaxed. I think listening to some music is a good way to relax.这首音乐很令人放松。听完之后，我感到很放松。我认为听一些音乐是放松的好方法。
