★how long在此句中意为“多长时间”，对时间段提问，句中的动词应为延续性动词。
How long will you stay in Beijing?
你将在北京待多长时间？
4.I have been standing on one foot for more than three minutes.我单脚站立了三分多钟。
★“more than+数字”意为“超过，多于”，相当于over。反义短语为less than（少于，不超过）.
I have know Tom for more than 10 years.我认识汤姆已经有十多年了。
5.I want to break a world record.
我想打破一项世界纪录。
★break a world record打破一项世界纪录。
6.I'll be late for supper!我晚饭要迟到了！
★be late for
①be late,迟到； for,对于某事来说
直译就是“对于某事来说已经迟到了”,意译就是“去做……已经迟到了”
be late for school 上学迟到
②其后面一半接名词或者动名词
be late for sth/doing。
7.I'll bring you a piece later.
我晚点给你带块披萨过来。
★bring sb. sth.=bring sth. to sb.给某人带某物。
8.That's very kind of you,Jenny.
珍妮，你真好。
★That's very kind of you.你真是太好了。
9.But my family is going to have a gathering tonight.但是我的家人今晚要聚会。
★have a gathering有一个聚会。
10.He puts his foot down.他把脚放下来。
★put down用法：
①放下：Danny put don his glass.丹尼放下他的玻璃杯。
②写下:Never put everything down on paper.不要在纸上写任何东西。
③*压镇**：Soldiers went in to put down a rebellion.士兵们攻进去*压镇**了叛乱。
★★put短语
put down放下；记下；估计；*压镇**；
put off 推迟，脱去衣服等;
put out熄灭，生产；
put up使......举高；张贴，建造；
put away 放好;
put together把........在一起组合；
put on穿，上演;
11.The gathering is more important than a world record!这个聚会比世界冠军更重要！
★more…than…
①表示“比……多”；“比……更”。
It was more expensive than I thought.这比我预料的昂贵多了。
John drove much more carefully than Tim did.约翰开车比吉姆小心得多。
注：more有时不用于构成比较级，而是本身就是比较级，此时其后可能接可数或不可数名词。
His car cost much more money than mine.他的小汽车所花的钱比我的多得多。
There are many more people than we expected.比我们想象的人要多得多。
②表示“与其……不如”。
He is more lucky than clever.
与其说他聪明，不如说他幸运。
It is even more a poem than a picture.与其说它是一幅画，倒不如说它是一首诗。
注：该句型主要用于同一个人或物在两个不同性质或特征等方面的比较(比较级必须 more, 不能用加词尾 -er 的形式)。
