定语从句中when的用法

当先行词是表示时间的名词（年，世纪，日，月，时，晚上，下午等），且定语从句中缺少状语时，可以使用 when 引导定语从句， 不 再使用介词。

I will never forget the day. I met Mr. Liu then (on that day).

I will never forget the day when I met Mr. Liu.

如果不用 when 引导，和where不同，除了介词+which以外不用介词：

I will never forget the day on which I met Mr. Liu.（学术英语更为常见）

I will never forget the day which I met Mr. Liu on .

I will never forget the day that I met Mr. Liu on .

I will never forget the day ∅ I met Mr. Liu on .
