Some people think that it is better to leave their home country for improving their work and living opportunities. Others believe that it is better to stay in their home country. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

There are those that feel a superior method of developing one’s work and life opportunities is to migrate to another nation; whereas, others feel remaining in their own society is better. This essay shall explore both viewpoints; however, in my opinion, ‘better’ prospects depend on the individual’s situation and mindset.
One of the main reasons why some feel it is better to leave one’s country in pursuit of greater opportunities is that by moving overseas, the migrant may feel liberated from any social conventions that acted as a hindrance. In other words, by having the confidence to move abroad, one may feel much less restrained by one’s own traditional and cultural norms, and in many cases, this can also include family and peer pressure. These aspects, in conjunction with choosing to migrate to a country that welcomes foreigners and is economically salient, make opportunities for an improved standard of living and work possible.
On the other hand, it is felt by many that by remaining in one’s own culture, it is simply much easier to find opportunities and is more comfortable. By staying in one’s own society, an individual can still retain the comfort of family and close friends, and perhaps more importantly, the person does not need to adapt to a new culture or new language, all of which make it easier to locate a suitable job and which are conducive to constructing a satisfactory lifestyle. Furthermore, a person living in their own society will find it much less confusing to understand the bureaucratic ins and outs of their own society.
In conclusion, going abroad to seek better prospects may be ideal for the person who has the confidence to adapt to a new society, but for many, remaining in a familiar environment still allows for work and lifestyle opportunities void of the confusion a foreign country poses; however, in my opinion, regardless where one resides, opportunities are ever-present, with the reward being a lifestyle of choice rather than one of circumstance.
