感恩节美国人会说“I am so thankful to have you in my life.”或“I am grateful for your support.”。Thankful和grateful两个单词意思相近，因此很多人容易混淆它们。中文里“谢谢”是分成了三种层次的，先是感谢，再来是感激，最后是感恩。同样的， thankful和grateful也有使用意义上的差异 。

可以通过下面例句来感受一下：

• Jack was grateful to his teachers and also thankful that he had passed his exams. ✏

有人帮了你，你 真心感谢 他，这个时候应该用 grateful 。

松了一口气，“ 还好没事 ”而进行的感谢应该用 thankful 。

1. be thankful ( to someone) for something 感激（某人）做了某事

• Lucy is thankful to Jack for the help.Lucy很感激Jack的帮忙。

2. be thankful for someone/something 感谢某人/某事的存在

• I'm thankful for you.还好有你。

3. be thankful + that从句

• I was just thankful that no one was killed or hurt.我只是很感激没有任何人伤亡。
