Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix第31章第659页,用两小段文字简要描述了周二的变形课理论和实操考试(第三、第四场考试);用一句话描写了周三的草药课考试(第五、第六场考试);用一句话来描写第七场‘黑魔法防御术理论’考试:“He had no problem with any of the written questions”,以托福迪教授让哈利额外展示‘博格特驱逐咒’来描写哈利学习最好的学科‘黑魔法防御术’(第八场考试)。

本课学习需要注意 practical, lost your head, bite/snap sb’s head off, flamingo这些词汇。practical形式像形容词,但是在本课实际上是作为名词‘实习课; 实践课; 实验考核’来使用: “He forgot the definition of a Switching Spell during his written paper next morning but thought his practical could have been a lot worse”。固定短语lost your head的含义为‘慌乱;昏了头;失去理智’:“poor Hannah Abbott lost her head completely at the next table”。这个短语在《牛津高阶英汉双解词典》中是放在head 词条下解释,我们再复习本册一个关于head的固定短语bite/snap sb’s head off ‘气愤地对某人大喊大叫;[尤指毫无道理地]呵斥某人’:“‘I know it is, Harry, so will you please stop biting my head off?’ said Hermione wearily (2014e, 233)” 。
