so…that…引导的结果状语从句，意思为“如此…以至于…”。句型中的so是副词，常常用来修饰形容词或副词，常用句型为：主语+谓语+so+ adj. / adv. + that+从句。如何把它转换为简单句，方法如下：一、 如果that从句是否定式，从句的主语与主句的主语相同时，可转换为too…to… 简单句结构。如：
(1) I am so hungry that I can’t walk.我太饿了，以至于我走不动了。 → I am too hungry to walk.
(2) The girl is so young that she can’t go to school. 女孩太小，还不能上学。 The girl is too young to go to school.
二、 如果that从句是否定式，从句的主语与主句的主语不相同时，可转换为too…for sb. to do… 简单句结构。如：
(1) This desk is so heavy that the boy can’t carry it. 桌子太重了，以至于这个男孩不能搬动。→ This desk is too heavy for the boy to carry.
(2) This question is so hard that we can’t answer it.这个问题太难了，以至于我们回答不上来。→This question is too hard for us to answer.
三、 如果that从句是肯定式，从句的主语与主句的主语相同，可转换为…enough to do… 简单句结构。如：
(1) Lucy is so tall that she can reach the apples on the tree.
Lucy长的很高，以至于她能够到树上的苹果。
→ Lucy is tall enough to reach the apples on the tree
(2)Bill is so clever that he can work out the problem.贝尔很聪明，以至于他能算出这道题。→ Bill is clever enough to work out the problem.
四、 如果that从句是肯定式，从句里的主语与主句的主语不相同时，可转换为…enough for sb. to do…简单句结构。如：
(1) The teacher spoke so clearly that we could hear him. 老师讲的很清晰，以至于我们都听明白了。
→ The teacher spoke clearly enough for us to hear
(2) The student did his homework so carefully that the teacher praised him. 这名学生的作业做的如此认真以至于老师表扬了他。
→ The student did his homework carefully enough for the teacher to praise him. 注意：
1. “such... that...”句型中，，意思也是“如此……以致于……” such修饰名词。
He has so much money that he can buy what he wanted.他有许多钱，以至于他能买他想要的东西。
但当名词前有many、much、(a) few、(a) little等词修饰时，句子中要用“so...that...”而不能用“such...that...”。例如：
There is so little milk in the glass that I can't drink any more. 杯子里几乎没有牛奶了，所以我不能再喝了。
2. ---so that---引导目的状语从句时，表示“以便；为了”，从句中常使用can /could /may /might /will /would /should等情态动词或助动词,此时可以和in order to 进行转换。
He got up very early so that he could catch the early train．
= He got up very early in order to catch the early train．
他起得很早以便能赶上早班火车。（目的状语从句）
