请问：这道题为什么选C呢?题中的第二个空填people 不可以吗?
答：不可以。这道题实际上就是考查people和 person 的含义和用法区别的。 people 和 person 都有“人”的意思,但是在含义和用法上是有区别的。
people 是泛指“人们”,是集体名词,单数形式表示复数意义,作主语时谓语动词用复数形式。例如:
1.Some people speak French in this country.在这个国家里一部分人*法讲**语。
2.Were there many people at the party? 晚会上的人多吗?
3.He meets a lot of famous people in his job.他在工作中常能见到许多名人。
the people 意为“人民;国民;公民”。例如:
1.We study hard for the people.我们为人民努力学习。
2.The President no longer has the support of the people.这位总统已失去国民的支持。
people 还可表示“民族;种族”,是可数名词,其复数形式为peoples。当作“民族”解,people 作主语时,其谓语动词既可用单数形式,也可用复数形式。例如:
1.There are fifty-six peoples in China.中国有五十六个民族。
2.The British people is/are fond of sport.不列颠民族酷爱运动。
3.The Chinese people is/are a hard-working people.中华民族是一个勤劳的民族。
person 指“人”,是可数名词,指具体的人,侧重于个体,无性别之分,常和数词连用,一般用于数目不大且比较精确的场合。例如:
1.A young person came in.一位年轻人走了进来。
2.He is just the person we need for the job.他正是我们需要的做那种工作的人。
3.Here she is —the very person we were talking about! 就是她——我们刚刚谈到的那个人。
