The graph shows the share of urban population in China from 1980 to 2019. Starting from just under 20% in 1980, the figure rose sharply to about 50% in 2010 and continued to grow steadily to slightly over 60% in 2019, despite the relatively slow rise after 2010.
As far as I am concerned, the primary cause for such a dramatic rise in urban population lies in China's extraordinary economic boom. China's fast and steady economic growth promotes urbanization. In turn, urbanization contributes to a diverse economy and thus provides more job vacancies for college graduates and skilled workers. Moreover, China's unprecedented urbanization has brought other positive changes. For one thing, the improved medical system in cities has provided basic medical insurance for over 300 million urban employees. For another, people's life is improved. In urbanization, the government has substantially increased infrastructural facilities, such as recreational parks and cultural centers, to satisfy the needs of urban dwellers.
Overall, the urbanization brought by China's economic boom makes China better. Based on the graph, it can be expected that China's urbanization will continue, although the process may slow down.

Strongly supported by the central government and the whole nation, Hainan is being built into the country's largest pilot free trade zone.
