01 go bad/spoil 食物坏掉
go bad 直译就是坏掉；spoil 当动词时是破坏的意思，食物变质坏掉则可以说 The food is spoilt.
My boyfriend and I planned to cook at home but all the vegetable had gone bad so we ate out.
我和男友原本打算下厨却发现蔬菜都坏了，最后只好外食。
I think the soup is spoilt. It tastes funny.
我觉得这道汤坏掉了，吃起来怪怪的。
02 turn sour 食物酸掉
想明确表达食物「臭酸」了就可以用这个短语。
Lisa forgot to put the milk in the refrigerator so it turned sour.
Lisa 忘了把牛奶放进冰箱所以它酸掉了。
03 torn 衣服破掉
Eric didn’t realize that his t-shirt was torn. It was so embarrassing!
Eric 的衣服破了但他自己不知道，超尴尬的！
04 burn 灯泡烧掉
The lightbulb burned and suddenly the whole room was in complete darkness.
灯泡突然烧掉之后整个房间陷入黑暗。
05 crash/quit unexpectedly 应用程式闪退
有时候手机容量不足或是和 app 不相容就会有「闪退」问题，此时可以用 crash，quit unexpectedly 则是苹果公司的官方用法。
This schedule app keeps crashing. I cannot use it.
这个行事曆 app 一直闪退，我没办法用。

01 breakdown/break down 抛锚
Brandon’s car broke down when he was driving on the highway. All he could do was to wait for the tow truck.
Brandon 的车抛锚在高速公路上，所以他只能等待拖吊车救援。
02 have a flat tire/ (tire) blow out
My tire blew out on my way to work, so I missed the presentation.
到公司的路上我的车子爆胎了，所以我错过了简报。
03 (brake) fail 刹车失灵
Always examine your car carefully to prevent any kind of malfunction, such as brake failure.
