北京电影学院（北电、北影，Beijing Film Academy），于1950年始建，坐落于北京市，前身是中央电影局表演艺术研究所，是亚洲规模最大、世界著名的电影专业院校，还是北京市人民政府、国家新闻出版*电总广局**和中国教育部重点支持建设的艺术高校，亚洲电影学术交流的中心，被誉为“中国电影人才的摇篮”。 该校是中国政府奖学金来华留学生接收院校，国际电影电视高等院校联合会（CILECT）理事学校和亚太地区电影年会执行主席，首家主持国家“863”项目的艺术院校，教育部本科教学工作水平评估优秀学校，北京市留学生教学管理先进单位，2018中国科幻大会优秀组织单位，是国家动画教育研究基地、北京影视艺术研究基地和中国儿童电影研究中心的挂牌单位。 学校于1951年更名为中央文化部电影局电影学校，1953年更名为北京电影学校，1956年改制为北京电影学院。 据2019年2月学校官网信息显示，北京电影学院占地主校区达105亩；怀柔校区（在建）占地面积667亩，总投资约28亿元，首期工程预计将于2019年投入使用。
